A NeighborhoodJoint

Game room. Live music. Dogs on the patio. A cooler full of local beer and fried chicken in the kitchen. We aren't your average neighborhood bar — come see why.

Byrd & Barrel is in the house

gourmet chicken, fast — est. 2015

The beloved St. Louis fried chicken destination serves its signature comfort food right inside Tamm Ave. Known for their legendary fried chicken — the standout is the Mother Clucker, but don't skip the O.G. Nugz or J.I.T.B. Tacos. Not a meat eater? Don't shy away: the menu has vegetarian options too.

The Death Star fire pit glowing on the Tamm Ave patio

9 PM — The patio

That's no moon.

it's the fire pit.

Our partially covered patio is a four-seasons room with removable walls — and yes, that fire pit is shaped like the Death Star. Out here it's string lights, cold cans, and the best-behaved dogs in Dogtown.

  • Dogs welcome on the patio — obviously
  • Keep your best bud on a leash
  • Dog bowls on request
  • No glass outside (that's for the paws)

11 PM — The game room

Best of three?

TVs for the game, games for the table, and a room that turns any Tuesday into a tournament. It's also the easiest private-party flex in the neighborhood — the whole room can be yours.

The neighborhood approves

Can't speak highly enough about this place! I always get a Nashville chicken sandwich to go, and I've never been disappointed. My favorite chicken sandwich in the city.

I loved the original Byrd and Barrel, and missed it when it was gone. I'm happy it's back! The food really hasn't changed, and the prices are still really reasonable.
